Siebert recently completed his tenure as Austin Opera’s resident Spotlight Artist. While performing with the Austin Opera, he covered Lt. Audebert in Kevin Puts’ Silent Night and Marcello in La bohéme (Giacomo Puccini). In addition to these covers, Siebert performed the roles of Araldo in Otello, Customs House Officer in La bohéme, and German Solider #1 in Silent Night.
Siebert performs with many other opera companies, orchestras, and choral groups. He has been featured as the Bass soloist for Austin Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Messiah, as well as Chorus Austin’s performances of Haydn’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, and Beethoven’s Missa solemnis. He covered the role of Sciarrone in Austin Opera’s 2021 production of Tosca (Puccini), then the role of Cesare Angelotti in Indianapolis Opera’s production of Tosca in 2022. His other roles have included Mr. Gobineau in The Medium and Marco in Gianni Schicchi with the Merola Opera Program in San Francisco, the role of Belcore with Dallas Opera Outreach’s production of L’elisir d’amore (“The Elixer of Love”), and Mustafá in Seagle Music Colony’s production of L’Italiana in Algeri. Siebert’s roles have also included Bass solos in Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat, and Handel’s Dixit Dominus at American University in Washington D.C.
Siebert holds a Masters in Music from the University of North Texas and a B.A. in Music from Northwestern University. While at the University of North Texas, he performed the title role in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd and the role of the villain Dapertutto in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. While at Northwestern University, Siebert appeared as the Bass Soloist in Fauré Requiem and Schubert’s Mass in A Flat.
Siebert currently lives in Austin, Texas with his two cats, Niko and Yuki. In his spare time, he likes to cook and practice archery.
